Release form and composition

Dosage form Breast collection number 1:

• crushed raw materials: pieces of leaves, thin stems, roots and flowers of various shapes, grayish-green in color, interspersed with purple, yellowish-brown and yellowish-white, with a weak aromatic odor (35, 50, 70 and 100 g each in cardboard boxes with inner paper bags);
• powder (1.5 g in filter bags made of non-absorbent porous heat-sealable paper, 10 or 20 bags in a cardboard box).

Pharmacological properties

Breast collection number 1 is a combined herbal remedy. It has anti-inflammatory and expectorant effects.

Pharmacodynamics

The effect of the drug is due to the properties of the active substances that make up the Breast Collection No. 1:

• marshmallow officinalis: has anti-inflammatory, expectorant, enveloping and mild analgesic effects, which are due to the high content of heterogeneous mucus in the plant. In the modern pharmacopoeia, marshmallow root is qualified as an antitussive agent. The mucous broth prepared from it moisturizes the vocal cords, passes into the trachea and softens the dense plaque on its walls, protects the receptors of the mucous membranes of the trachea and pharynx from irritation, accelerates the regeneration of the affected areas of the mucous membrane, facilitates expectoration;
• oregano herb: used as a choleretic, expectorant, diuretic, sedative and soothing agent for the central nervous system. Oregano essential oil increases the secretion of bronchial glands, has moderate antimicrobial and antiviral activity. The water extract from the plant has a significant antibacterial effect, the herb oregano is effective in the fight against pathogenic microorganisms;
• mother and stepmother: has a complex effect on inflammatory processes in the mucous membranes of the upper and lower respiratory tract. Infusion of the leaves of the plant has an expectorant, pronounced anti-inflammatory, inhibiting the reproduction of bacteria. Mucus, contained in the leaves in significant quantities, envelops and protects the mucous membranes of the mouth, throat and larynx from irritation. In the upper respiratory tract, saponins, mucus and organic acids soften (liquefy) dry discharge, restoring the natural movement of the ciliated epithelium in the trachea and bronchi, accelerating the evacuation of inflammation products, significantly improving sputum discharge. At the same time, tannins, carotenoids and sterols contained in the plant, due to bacteriostatic properties,exhibit a pronounced anti-inflammatory effect and reduce mucosal hyperemia. The flavonoids and essential oil in coltsfoot leaves provide a slight antispasmodic effect.

Chest collection No. 1, instructions for use: method and dosage

An aqueous solution is prepared from the Breast Collection No. 1, which is taken orally after meals, shaking beforehand.

When using a crushed collection, pour 5 g (1 tablespoon) into an enamel bowl, pour 1 glass (200 ml) of hot boiled water, cover, heat for 15 minutes in a boiling water bath, cool for 45 minutes at room temperature, strain and squeeze out the remaining raw materials. Bring the resulting infusion to a volume of 200 ml with boiled water.

When using filter bags, place 3 bags in an enamel or glass dish, pour 1 glass (200 ml) boiling water, cover and insist for 20 minutes, periodically pressing the bags with a spoon, then squeeze them out. Bring the resulting infusion to 200 ml with boiled water.

It is recommended to take ½ ‒ ⅓ glass 3 or 4 times a day.

The course of treatment is usually 2–3 weeks.

Side effects

Breast collection # 1 is generally well tolerated. In some cases, it can cause allergic reactions.
