Gipromeloza-P is a drug for protecting and moisturizing the cornea.

Release form and composition

Dosage form of Gipromeloza-P - eye drops: colorless, transparent, slightly viscous, with slight opalescence (10 ml in polyethylene dropper bottles, in a cardboard box 1 dropper bottle).

Composition of 1 ml drops:

  • active substance: hypromellose - 5 mg;
  • auxiliary components: benzalkonium chloride - 0.05 mg; dexpanthenol - 10 mg; sodium chloride - 7 mg; disodium edetate dihydrate - 0.1 mg; purified water - up to 1 ml.

Indications for use

  • deformation of the eyelids;
  • lagophthalmos;
  • keratopathy;
  • ectropion;
  • bullous dystrophic changes in the cornea;
  • conditions after thermal burns of the conjunctiva / cornea, plastic surgery on the eyelids, keratoectomy, keratoplasty;
  • trophic ulcers / corneal erosion;
  • microdefects of the corneal epithelium;
  • carrying out the following studies: electroretinography, gonioscopy, echobiometry, electrooculography;
  • dry eye syndrome (as part of complex treatment).

Contraindications

  • chemical burns of the conjunctiva / cornea in the acute phase (therapy can be started after complete removal of necrotic tissues / toxic substances);
  • pregnancy and lactation;
  • individual intolerance to the components of the drug.

For children under 18 years old, Gipromeloz-P is prescribed only in cases where the expected benefit is higher than the possible harm.

Method of administration and dosage

Gipromelose-P is applied topically, in the lower conjunctival sac.

The recommended dosage regimen: 1-2 drops 4-8 times a day (it is possible to use it every hour) for a course of at least 14-21 days.

When performing electrooculography, electroretinography, gonioscopy, echobiometric examination of the eyeball, 1 drop is instilled once.

After the end of the procedure, the bottle must be tightly closed immediately.

Side effects

Possible violations: a feeling of sticking of the eyelids (due to the high viscosity of the solution), allergic reactions, burning in the eye, blurred vision immediately after using Gipromelose-P, eye irritation.

special instructions

Before using Gipromeloza-P, contact lenses must be removed. You can install them again after 30 minutes.

If blurred vision appears during the use of the drug, you should refuse to drive vehicles.

Drug interactions

The combined use of Gipromelose-P with eye drops containing metal salts is contraindicated.
