Galstena is a complex homeopathic medicine used in the treatment of diseases of the gallbladder and liver.

Release form and composition

Galstena dosage forms:

  • Homeopathic drops: yellowish transparent liquid with a weak specific odor (20, 50 or 100 ml in dark glass dropper bottles, 1 bottle in a cardboard box);
  • Homeopathic sublingual pills: flat-cylindrical, round, with a line and bevelling, white with marbling and blotches, odorless (12 pcs. In blisters, 1, 2, 3 or 4 blisters in cardboard boxes).

The composition of 100 ml drops contains active substances:

  • Phosphorus (phosphorus) D12 - 10 ml;
  • Taraxacum (medicinal dandelion) D6 - 10 ml;
  • Carduus (spotted milk thistle) D1 - 2 ml;
  • Natrium sulfuricum (sodium sulfate) D12 - 10 ml;
  • Chelidonium (large celandine) D6 - 10 ml.

Auxiliary component: ethyl alcohol - 43% by weight.

The composition of 1 tablet contains active substances:

Indications for use

Galsten is prescribed simultaneously with other drugs in the treatment of the following diseases:

  • Chronic pancreatitis;
  • Hepatosis, hepatitis (chronic and acute liver diseases);
  • Postcholecystectomy syndrome, chronic cholecystitis (gallbladder disease).

Contraindications

  • Alcohol addiction;
  • Hypersensitivity to drug components.

Method of administration and dosage

Galsten should be taken orally, observing the intervals with meals (30 minutes before or 1 hour after meals). Before swallowing a drop, it should be held in the mouth for 20-30 seconds, the tablets must be kept under the tongue until they are completely absorbed.

Adults and adolescents can use drops in their pure form, or pre-dilute them in a small volume of water (1 tablespoon). For children under 1 year old, a single dose (drops, tablets) should be diluted in 1 teaspoon of water or breast milk and given drop by drop.

In the treatment of acute and chronic hepatitis, hepatosis, chronic pancreatitis with a frequency of administration 3 times a day, it is usually prescribed:

In the treatment of gallstone disease, chronic cholecystitis, postcholecystectomy syndrome with a frequency of administration 3 times a day, Galsten is prescribed:

  • Children under 12 years old - ½ tablet or 5 drops;
  • Teenagers and adults - 1 tablet or 10 drops.

The average duration of the course is 3 months. If necessary, after 1 month, the treatment course can be repeated.

At the onset of the disease, as well as if it is necessary to quickly relieve symptoms, drops can be taken every 0.5-1 hour:

  • Children under 1 year old - 1 drop each;
  • Children 1-12 years old - 5 drops each;
  • Children from 12 years old and adults - 8-10 drops each.

According to this scheme, the drug can be taken before the onset of improvement, but no more than 8 times a day. In the future, drops should be taken 3 times a day. In acute cases, at intervals of 0.5-1 hours (up to 8 times a day), it is also possible to take Galstena in the form of tablets.
