Vikair is a combined agent with antacid, astringent, antiseptic, mild laxative and antispasmodic properties.
Release form and composition
Dosage form - tablets, mauve or pink, with dark and light blotches, flat-cylindrical shape with a chamfer and a dividing line (10 pieces in a cell or non-cell contour packaging, 1, 2, 3, 5 or 10 packages in a cardboard box; 10, 20 or 30 tablets in polymer cans, 1 can in a cardboard box).
Content of active ingredients in 1 Vikair tablet:
- Basic magnesium carbonate - 0.4 g;
- Basic bismuth nitrate - 0.35 g;
- Calamus rhizome - 0.025 g;
- Sodium bicarbonate - 0.2 g;
- Buckthorn bark - 0.025 g.
Excipients: talc, potato starch, stearic acid.
Indications for use
- Hyperacid gastritis, accompanied by constipation;
- Peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum.
Contraindications
The use of the drug is contraindicated in patients with the following pathologies:
- Hypoacid gastritis;
- Chronic appendicitis;
- Enterocolitis;
- Chronic renal failure
- Hypersensitivity to drug components.
It is forbidden to take the drug to patients of childhood and adolescence (under 18 years old).
Method of administration and dosage
The tablets are taken orally, 1-1.5 hours after a meal, with a small amount of water (¼ glass).
Dosing - 1-2 pcs. 3 times a day.
The period of treatment is 1-2 months, if necessary, the course may be repeated after a preliminary consultation with a doctor.

Treatment with Vikair can cause the development of allergic reactions, diarrhea.

With long-term use in high doses, the development of encephalopathy is possible, caused by the accumulation of bismuth in the central nervous system.
Drug interactions
The use of H 2 -histamine receptor blockers or m-anticholinergic blockers reduces the need for the drug.
Vikair lowers the absorption of tetracyclines.
The simultaneous use of medicines containing bismuth increases its concentration in the blood.
