Bronchophyte is a combined herbal preparation with expectorant and moderate anti-inflammatory action.
Release form and composition
The dosage form of Bronchophyte is an elixir: transparent or slightly opalescent, brown in color, has a fragrant odor, sediment formation is permissible (100, 200 or 250 ml in glass bottles, 1 bottle in a cardboard box).
The composition of 1 ml of the elixir includes a water-alcohol extract Bronchophyte (the content of glycyrrhizic acid is not less than 0.03%) - 39.6 mg, including 7 types of plant materials (active substances) and auxiliary components:
- large plantain (leaves) - 8 mg;
- licorice (root) - 10 mg;
- sage (leaves) - 5 mg;
- thyme (herb) - 4.2 mg;
- ordinary anise (fruit) - 4.4 mg;
- violet (herb) - 4 mg;
- marsh wild rosemary (shoots) - 4 mg;
- food citric acid - 0.48 mg;
- elixir color - 30 mg;
- 95% ethanol - 0.084 ml;
- sucrose - 40 mg;
- purified water - up to 1 ml.
Indications for use
Bronchofitis as an expectorant and anti-inflammatory agent is prescribed for the treatment of diseases of the respiratory tract of inflammatory etiology, which are accompanied by increased viscosity of sputum and reduced drainage function of the bronchi.
Contraindications
Absolute:
- renal / hepatic disease;
- age up to 18 years;
- the period of pregnancy, breastfeeding;
- individual intolerance to the components of the drug.
Relative (Bronchophyte is prescribed with caution in the presence of the following diseases / conditions):
- pancreatitis;
- disorders of carbohydrate metabolism, including diabetes mellitus.
Method of administration and dosage
Bronchophyte is taken orally 10-15 minutes before meals.
The suggested scheme of the drug 2-3 times a day for 10-15 ml (2-3 teaspoons), diluted in ¼- 1 / 3 water glass, a course of 2-3 weeks. The doctor can prescribe refresher courses.
Side effects
During the period of treatment, the development of allergic reactions may be observed.

Patients should take into account the presence of the following components in Bronchophyte (in 10-15 ml - single dose):
- sucrose - 500 mg, which corresponds to 0.05 XE (bread units) - important in diabetes mellitus;
- ethyl alcohol - 2000-3400 mg.
Drug interactions
When using Bronchofit in combination with drugs with antitussive action, it may be difficult to cough up liquefied sputum (the combination is not recommended).
