Acesol is a combined salt preparation used to restore water-electrolyte balance in case of intoxication and dehydration.

Release form and composition

The drug Acesol is produced in the form of a solution for infusion (200 and 400 ml each in vials for blood substitutes (for infusions) and in glass bottles (for injections)).

1 liter of solution contains:

  • Potassium chloride - 1 g;
  • Sodium chloride - 5 g;
  • Sodium acetate - 2 g.

Indications for use

The active substances of the drug have a plasma-substituting, anti-shock, detoxifying, diuretic, rehydrating and antiplatelet effect. The drug prevents blood thickening, prevents the development of metabolic acidosis, improves microcirculation, reduces hypovolemia and increases diuresis.

The drug is used in the following conditions:

  • Dehydration;
  • Various types of intoxication (including food poisoning), dysentery, cholera El Tor.

Contraindications

  • Chronic renal failure
  • Alkalosis;
  • The presence of contraindications to the introduction of a large amount of liquid into the body;
  • Hypersensitivity to one of the components of the solution;
  • Hyperkalemia.

Method of administration and dosage

Applied for severe and moderate severity of the condition. In cases of a severe course of the disease, Acesol is injected intravenously in a stream for 1-3 hours, or within 1 hour, followed by a transition to drip at a rate of 50-120 drops / min for 24-48 hours. The volume of saline solution required for treatment is selected individually, depending on the course of the disease, in the amount necessary to restore the water-electrolyte balance.

For mild liver dysfunction, dose adjustment is not required.

Side effects

Depending on the type and course of the disease, Acesol can cause the following undesirable effects:

  • Tachycardia;
  • Hyperkalemia;
  • Chills;
  • Swelling.

If hyperkalemia develops during drug treatment, Acesol should be replaced with Disol solution and the normal electrolyte balance should be restored.

During the treatment period, the hematocrit and the concentration of blood electrolytes should be monitored.

Freezing the drug is not a contraindication to its use.
