Aflazin is a drug with high bacteriostatic activity against most strains of causative agents of urinary tract infections.

Release form and composition

Dosage form - 200 mg capsules (10 capsules in blisters, 3 blisters in a cardboard box).

The active ingredient of Aflazin is an extract of hibiscus (Hibiscus) containing organic acids (hibiscus, pyrocatechic, citric, oxysuccinic), vitamins, polysaccharides, bioflavonoids.

Indications for use

The use of Aflazin has an anti-inflammatory, anti-edema, anti-adhesive effect, prevents dysuric manifestations (painful and unpleasant sensations when urinating, false and frequent urge to urinate).

Aflazin is prescribed:

  • Chronic and acute urinary tract infections (in combination therapy), including pyelonephritis and cystitis (treatment);
  • Asymptomatic bacteriuria (including in pregnant women) (treatment);
  • Noninfectious kidney disease, including glomerulonephritis and interstitial nephritis (treatment);
  • The appearance of urinary calculi, the development and exacerbation of urinary tract infections of various nature (prevention);
  • The period after instrumental intervention (prevention).

Contraindications

Do not use the drug if you have sensitivity to hibiscus extract and auxiliary components.

Do not prescribe medicine to children under 6 years of age.

During the first trimester of pregnancy, the drug can be used only as directed by a doctor. In the subsequent trimesters and during lactation, the use of Aflazin does not require special medical supervision.

Method of administration and dosage

Capsules are taken regardless of food intake:

  • Children over 12 years old and adults - 1 capsule 2 times a day;
  • Children from 6 to 12 years old - 1 capsule 1 time per day.

Average duration of treatment:

  • Acute inflammation and exacerbation of diseases in the chronic stage - from 4 to 6 weeks;
  • Prevention - 2 to 4 weeks.
