Aurisan is a drug with an antiseptic effect and a wide spectrum of antimicrobial action against viruses, protozoa, yeast-like fungi of the genus Candida, gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms, dermatomycetes. It acts fungicidal, bactericidal and sporicidal on microorganisms. Increases the sensitivity of bacteria to antibiotics, enhances the effect of traditional antimicrobial agents in complex therapy.

Release form and composition

Dosage form - ear drops: clear, colorless liquid with the smell of alcohol (5 ml each in vials with a dropper cap, 1 bottle in a cardboard box).

Active substance: decamethylenedimethylmethyloxycarbonylmethylammonium dichloride (decamethoxin), in 1 ml of solution - 0.5 mg.

Auxiliary components: ethanol (ethyl alcohol) 70%.

Indications for use

Aurisan is a drug used to treat acute and chronic otitis externa and otitis media of bacterial and fungal origin.

Contraindications

  • violation of the integrity of the tympanic membrane;
  • lactation period;
  • children under 12 years old;
  • individual hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

During pregnancy, Aurisan can be prescribed only after a careful assessment of the balance of benefits and possible risks.

Method of administration and dosage

The drug is applied topically.

Rules for using ear drops: put a cotton wool or gauze turunda into the ear canal, then drip Aurisan solution warmed to body temperature on it in an amount of 2-3 drops.

The frequency of procedures is 3-4 times a day. The duration of therapy is 7 days.

Side effects

Immediately after instillation, a short-term burning sensation is possible.

In some cases, local allergic reactions occur: skin peeling and itching of the external auditory canal, hyperemia (go away on their own after decametoxin is discontinued).

In case of hypersensitivity to the drug, reactions of local irritation of the ear may occur.

For persistent and severe infections, local treatment is advisable in combination with systemic antibiotics.
