Aspirin UPSA is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug used to relieve pain and lower body temperature in inflammatory or infectious diseases.

Release form and composition

Aspirin UPSA is produced in the form of flat white effervescent tablets (4 tablets in a strip).

1 tablet contains:

  • Acetylsalicylic acid - 500 mg;
  • Excipients: sodium carbonate anhydrous, citric acid anhydrous, sodium citrate anhydrous, sodium bicarbonate, crospovidone, aspartame, natural orange flavor, povidone.

Indications for use

Aspirin UPSA has analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic effects. The advantage of the soluble form of the drug in comparison with traditional acetylsalicylic acid is a more complete and faster absorption of the active substance and its better tolerance. Also, the drug reduces thrombus formation and platelet aggregation, while the antiplatelet effect persists for a week after a single dose.

Aspirin UPSA is used:

  • Moderate or mild pain syndrome of various origins, including headache and toothache, muscle and joint pain, neuralgia, migraine, chest radicular syndrome, algodismenorrhea;
  • Fever with colds or other infectious and inflammatory diseases.

Contraindications

  • Erosive and ulcerative lesions of the gastrointestinal tract in the acute phase, gastrointestinal bleeding;
  • Portal hypertension;
  • "Aspirin" asthma;
  • Exfoliating aortic aneurysm;
  • Phenylketonuria;
  • Hemorrhagic diathesis, including hemophilia, telangiectasia, von Willebrand disease, thrombocytopenia, hypoprothrombinemia, thrombocytopenic purpura;
  • Deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase;
  • Hypersensitivity to the components of Aspirin UPSA or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs;
  • Severe liver and kidney dysfunction;
  • Vitamin K deficiency.

The drug is allowed to be taken only in the II trimester of pregnancy; when taken during lactation, breastfeeding is recommended to be stopped. Aspirin UPSA is not used in children under 15 years of age because of the risk of developing Reye's syndrome.

The medicine should be taken with caution in case of urate nephrolithiasis, hyperuricemia, decompensated heart failure, and a history of gastric and duodenal ulcer. When using Aspirin UPSA, it should be borne in mind that it can cause an acute attack of gout with an existing predisposition.

Method of administration and dosage

Aspirin UPSA can be taken by children over 15 years old and adults 1 tablet up to 6 times a day with an interval between doses of at least 4 hours. Before use, the tablet should be dissolved in a glass of water or juice at room temperature.

At the beginning of the disease, with severe pain and high temperature, you can take 2 tablets at the same time, but no more than 6 tablets per day, for the elderly - no more than 4. As an antipyretic agent Aspirin UPSA is taken for 3 days, as an analgesic - up to 5 days.

In case of an overdose, symptoms of excitation of the central nervous system, vomiting, severe headache, dizziness, nausea, hearing loss, visual impairment and increased breathing may first appear, after which respiratory failure, depression of consciousness up to coma and disturbances in water-electrolyte metabolism may develop.

Care should be taken when using Aspirin UPSA together with glucocorticoid agents and ethanol, since the latter increase the effect of acetylsalicylic acid on the mucous membrane of the gastrointestinal tract, thereby increasing the risk of developing gastrointestinal bleeding.

Side effects

At the recommended doses, Aspirin UPSA is generally well tolerated. Rarely, when taking the drug, the following disorders may develop:

  • Skin rash, "aspirin triad", bronchospasm and Quincke's edema;

  • Nausea, decreased appetite, vomiting, gastrointestinal bleeding, epigastric pain, diarrhea;
