Arpeflu is a drug with antiviral and immunomodulatory effects.
Release form and composition
Dosage form Arpeflu - coated tablets (10, 20 pcs. In blisters, 1-4 packs in a cardboard box).
Composition of 1 tablet:
- active substance: 6-bromo-5-hydroxy-1-methyl-4-dimethylaminomethyl-2-phenylthiomethylindole-3-carboxylic acid ethyl ester (in the form of hydrochloride monohydrate) - 50 or 100 mg;
- auxiliary components: microcrystalline cellulose, lactose, modified starch (Starch 1500), magnesium stearate, aerosil, medical low molecular weight polyvinylpyrrolidone 12 600 ± 2700, Opadry II (polyethylene glycol, talc, titanium dioxide, polyvinyl alcohol).
Indications for use
- influenza caused by viruses A and B (treatment / prevention);
- secondary immunodeficiency states (treatment / prevention);
- acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI), including those complicated by pneumonia, bronchitis (treatment / prevention);
- postoperative infectious complications (prevention) and normalization of the immune status in adults;
- chronic bronchitis, pneumonia and recurrent herpes infection (in combination with the use of other drugs).
Contraindications
- age up to 3 years;
- lactase deficiency, galactose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption;
- hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
Method of administration and dosage
Arpeflu is taken orally, preferably before meals.
Average single doses:
- adults and children over 12 years old: 200 mg;
- children 6-12 years old: 100 mg;
- children 3-6 years old: 50 mg.
The frequency of taking Arpeflu in the treatment of influenza and other acute respiratory viral infections (depending on the severity of the course of the disease):
- without complications: 4 times a day at equal intervals (every 6 hours) for a course of 5 days;
- with the development of complications (pneumonia, bronchitis and others): 4 times a day at equal intervals (every 6 hours) for a course of 5 days, after which the therapy is continued for 4 weeks - 1 single dose once a week.
Frequency rate of taking Arpeflu for non-specific prophylaxis:
- the period of the epidemic of influenza and other acute respiratory viral infections (in order to prevent the recurrence of herpes infection, exacerbations of chronic bronchitis): 2 times a week for 3 weeks;
- direct contact with patients with influenza and other acute respiratory viral infections: once a day for a course of 10-14 days;
- postoperative complications: course - 3 single doses (2 days before the operation, on the 2nd and 5th days after it).
