Method of administration and dosage
Solution for injection
In this dosage form, Adiuretin SD is administered subcutaneously, intramuscularly or intravenously.
Recommended doses:
- Diabetes insipidus - 0.025 mcg / kg (2000-4000 mcg for adults and 400 mcg for children) 2 times a day (morning and evening). Doses of solution over 1 ml are administered as a slow intravenous drip infusion;
- Hemophilia A and von Willebrand disease: adults and children older than 11 months - 0.3 μg / kg as an intravenous infusion (in 50 ml of 0.9% sodium chloride solution) for 15-30 minutes. Children under 11 months of age with these diseases are not prescribed the drug.
In case of diabetes insipidus in the form of a solution for injection, Adiuretin is prescribed in case of impossibility of intranasal administration of the drug.
Nasal drops In this dosage form, Adiuretin is administered intranasally.
Recommended doses:
- Bedwetting: 2-10 drops at night;
- Diabetes insipidus: 1-3 drops 2-3 times a day;
- Acute central polyuria: 2 drops. If within 1 hour the normalization of the balance (fluid intake in the form of infusion and diuresis) does not occur, it is recommended to transfer the patient to an injection of the drug (usually intravenous);
- When studying the concentration ability of the kidneys: the usual dose is 3 drops (15 mcg), children over 1 year old - 2-3 drops (10-15 mcg) before the test. Immediately after the instillation of the drug, the patient must empty the bladder, and during the test and within 4 hours after its completion (about 8 hours in total), limit the intake of fluid into the body. During the next 4 hours of using the drug, urine samples are collected every hour to determine osmolarity. The test must be repeated if the test results in a decrease in the concentration of the kidneys.
Side effects
When using Adiuretin SD, the following side effects may develop: headache, cramping abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, excessive sweating, difficulty urinating, and irritation of the nasal mucosa (when using nasal drops).
special instructions
The study of the concentration ability of the kidneys should be carried out by a nephrologist.
In children under 1 year old, a test using adiuretin diabetes is performed in exceptional cases. This is due to the fact that the drug used in high doses at this age can lead to the development of seizures and other mental and neurological symptoms.
In the case of a test in children under 1 year old, during the time of urine collection, it is necessary to completely exclude fluid intake.
Drug interactions
With the simultaneous use of dopamine, a mutual strengthening of the pressor effect is noted. If it is necessary to prescribe this combination, treatment should be carried out under close monitoring of the patient's condition.
Analogs
Analogues of Adiuretin SD are: Adiuretin, Apo-Desmopressin, Desmopressin, Vazomirin, Minirin, Nativa, Nurem, Presyneks, Emosint.
