Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics
Triamcinolone is a fluorinated glucocorticosteroid with pronounced anti-inflammatory, anti-exudative and anti-allergic effects.
The drug interacts with a specific protein receptor in target tissues, thereby regulating the expression of corticoid-dependent genes and, as a consequence, affects protein synthesis.
Triamcinolone reduces the release, activity and formation of inflammatory mediators such as histamine, kinin, prostaglandin, lysosomal enzymes.
The drug inhibits cell migration to the site of inflammation, as well as reduces increased vascular permeability and relaxation of smooth muscles in the walls of blood vessels. Triamcinolone stabilizes lysosomal enzymes of leukocyte membranes. It disrupts antigen recognition and inhibits antibody synthesis. Inhibits the release of interferon gamma, interleukin-1 and interleukin-2 from macrophages and lymphocytes. Stimulates the formation of lipocortin. Stabilizes mast cell membranes. Suppresses the release of inflammatory mediators by eosinophils.
Due to the described properties, Triacort suppresses the inflammatory response in tissues during immune, chemical and mechanical damage.
