Ingaron is a recombinant human interferon gamma, an immunomodulatory agent with antiviral activity.
Release form and composition
Dosage form - lyophilisate for the preparation of a solution for injection (intramuscular and subcutaneous): loose or porous hygroscopic mass of white color (in vials: 1, 5, 10 or 20 vials in a cardboard box; 1, 5, 10 or 20 vials in a blister strip packaging, 1 package in a cardboard box; 1, 5, 10 or 20 vials in a contour cassette package, 1 package in a cardboard box).
The active ingredient is interferon gamma: in 1 bottle - 100 thousand, 500 thousand, 1 million or 2 million IU (international units).
Mannitol is used as an excipient.
Indications for use
Monotherapy:
- Genital herpesvirus infection;
- Herpes zoster (shingles).
Combination therapy:
- Chronic viral hepatitis C, chronic viral hepatitis B, pulmonary tuberculosis, human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS);
- Oncological diseases (as an immunomodulator, including in combination with chemotherapy);
- Chronic prostatitis;
- Urogenital chlamydia;
- Anogenital warts (human papillomavirus), including prevention of recurrence of the disease.
Ingaron is also used to prevent complications of infectious origin in patients with chronic granulomatous disease.

- Childhood;
- Hypersensitivity to the drug.
Method of administration and dosage
Ingaron is administered intramuscularly or subcutaneously. Immediately before injection, the contents of the vial are dissolved with 2 ml of injection water.
The dosage regimen is determined individually for each patient. Average doses used:
- Chronic viral hepatitis C, chronic viral hepatitis B, pulmonary tuberculosis, HIV, AIDS: 500 thousand IU once a day every day or every other day, the course of treatment is 1-2 months, if necessary, after a 1-2-month interval, the course is repeated;
- Oncological diseases: 500 thousand IU once a day every other day;
- Chronic prostatitis: 100 thousand IU subcutaneously once a day every other day, the course of treatment - 10 injections;
- Urogenital chlamydia, genital herpesvirus infection, shingles: 500 thousand IU subcutaneously once a day every other day, course of treatment - 5 injections;
- Anogenital warts: 100 thousand IU subcutaneously once a day (after cryodestruction) every other day, the course of treatment is 5 injections;
- Prevention of infectious complications in patients with chronic granulomatous disease: 500 thousand IU once a day, every day or every other day, the course of treatment consists of 5-15 injections. If necessary, prolong the duration of therapy or repeat the course in 10-14 days.
Side effects
Possible local reactions: hyperemia, local weak pain of a breaking character (like an overtrained muscle) at the site of subcutaneous injection.
When using Ingaron in high doses (more than 1 million IU), there is a likelihood of developing a flu-like syndrome, manifested by an increase in body temperature, weakness, headache and joint pain (severe symptoms can be stopped with paracetamol).
