Release form and composition
Dosage form of release - film-coated tablets: biconvex; core colors - from dark brown to light brown, shell color - yellow with a greenish-grayish or greenish tint (10 or 25 pcs. in blister strip packaging made of polyvinyl chloride / aluminum, in a cardboard box 1–6 or 10 packs; 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 or 100 pcs. In polymer containers, in a cardboard box 1 container; each box also contains instructions for the use of Valerian Forte).
Composition of 1 tablet:
- active substance: valerian (in the form of a thick extract) - 40 mg;
- auxiliary components (core): magnesium stearate - 6 mg, sodium carboxymethyl starch - 12 mg, magnesium hydroxycarbonate - 100 mg, sucrose - 126 mg, potato starch - 36 mg;
- shell: yellow quinoline dye - 0.24 mg, polysorbate-80 - 1.6 mg, hypromellose - 8.2 mg, titanium dioxide - 3.96 mg.

Facilitates the process of falling asleep naturally. The onset of sedation is prolonged, but the effect achieved is usually quite stable. The drug has a choleretic effect by increasing the secretion of the gastrointestinal glands.

According to the International Convention EMEAHMPWG11 / 99, it is not required to conduct a mandatory isolated study to study the pharmacokinetics of herbal preparations.
Indications for use
- insomnia (sleep disturbance);
- increased nervous irritability;
- functional disorders of the cardiovascular system (in combination with other drugs);
- spasms of the digestive system (in combination with other drugs).
Contraindications
Absolute:
- glucose-galactose malabsorption, isomaltase / sucrase deficiency, congenital fructose intolerance;
- age up to 12 years;
- I trimester of pregnancy;
- individual intolerance to the components of the drug.
Relative (diseases / conditions in which Valerian Forte tablets should be used with caution):
- chronic enterocolitis;
- II and III trimesters of pregnancy and the period of breastfeeding (taking the drug is possible only after the doctor evaluates the ratio of the expected benefit with the possible risk).

Valerian Forte tablets should be taken orally, preferably after meals.
If there is no other doctor's prescription, the drug should be taken 3 times a day, 1 tablet for a course of 2 to 4 weeks. If necessary, take Valerian Forte repeat.
Side effects
Possible violations: depression, lethargy, drowsiness, muscle weakness, decreased performance (especially in cases of high doses of Valerian Forte), constipation (with a long course). In some cases, allergic reactions are observed.
Overdose
A symptom of an overdose of Valerian Forte is an increase in side effects such as drowsiness, lethargy, muscle rigidity, depression, decreased performance. In severe cases, a feeling of tightness in the chest, dizziness, dilated pupils, tremors of the hands, abdominal pain of a spastic nature, arrhythmias and bradycardia may appear.
In case of taking excessively high doses of the drug (more than 20 times higher than the maximum recommended dose), it is necessary to stop taking the drug, perform intestinal lavage using activated charcoal, take magnesium sulfate orally in order to prevent intestinal absorption of the drug and provide a laxative effect. If it is necessary to take measures to improve the patient's condition, symptomatic therapy is recommended.
