Bellaspon is a drug with antispasmodic and sedative effects.
Release form and composition
The drug is produced in the form of pills (15 pcs. In a blister strip, 2 packs in a cardboard box and instructions for use of Bellaspon).
1 tablet contains:
- Ergotamine - 0.3 mg;
- Phenobarbital - 20 mg;
- Belladonna alkaloid - 0.1 mg.
Auxiliary components: gelatin, white wax, carnauba wax, lactose monohydrate, aluminum stearate, edetate disodium, sodium carmellose, sucrose, macrogol-6000, sodium carboxymethylamyl, starch (corn), blue V 230 patented dye.

Ergotamine is a non-hydrogenated ergot alkaloid that has a vasoconstrictor and sedative effect.
Phenobarbital is a hypnotic, and also reduces the body's convulsive readiness and has a sedative effect.
Belladonna alkaloids relax the muscles of the bronchi and abdominal organs, have an analgesic effect.

Indications for use
Bellaspon is used to treat neuroses with autonomic disorders, as well as neuroses associated with somatic diseases and neurotic disorders during menopause.
Contraindications
The use of Bellaspon is contraindicated in persons with atherosclerotic lesions of the cerebral vessels, with renal or hepatic insufficiency, glaucoma, during acute myocardial infarction, during pregnancy and lactation, as well as with hypersensitivity to the components of the drug. The drug is not prescribed to patients under 18 years of age.
Bellaspon, instructions for use: method and dosage
Dragee Bellaspon take 1 pc. 3 times a day, preferably after a meal (without chewing, drinking a little water).
The maximum daily dose is 6 tablets.
Side effects
The drug is generally well tolerated by patients. Side effects are rare and can manifest as allergic reactions, dyspeptic symptoms and dizziness.
Also, in some cases, the following undesirable reactions are noted: loss of appetite and taste, dry mouth, constipation, cyanotic manifestations on the fingers and toes, muscle weakness, tremors of the limbs, visual impairment, urticaria, itchy skin, skin rashes, drowsiness, fogging consciousness, weak mental disorders, edema, drug dependence.
Overdose
Symptoms of acute poisoning: nausea, vomiting, chills, loss of consciousness, convulsions, peripheral vasoconstriction, disturbances in the cardiovascular system.
Symptoms of chronic intoxication: anginal pain, pain syndrome, trophic disorders, serious circulatory disorders, gangrene, arrhythmia, instability of blood pressure.
In severe cases, the following are possible: coma, shock, hypotension, renal failure, suppression of the activity of the cardiovascular system, death.
Therapeutic measures: gastric lavage, stabilization of blood flow, prevention of gangrene. It may be necessary to restore electrolyte balance, maintain the respiratory and cardiac systems.

Bellaspon enhances the effect of drugs that have an inhibitory effect on the central nervous system (due to an increase in enzymatic activity, the opposite effect may develop).
Bellaspon's action is increased by tricyclic antidepressants, antihistamines, phenothiazine, amantadine, butyrophenone, antidiabetic agents, monoamine oxidase inhibitors, valproic acid, hydantoin, urine acidifying drugs, and ethanol.
The drug increases the activity and increases the toxicity of methotrexate, pethidine, chloral hydrate, cyclophosphamide, mercaptopurine.
With the simultaneous use of anesthesia with the use of fluorothane or enflurane, the risk of toxic liver damage increases.
The vasoconstrictor effect of ergotamine (one of Bellaspon's active substances) is enhanced by sympathomimetics such as adrenaline.
The effect of phenobarbital (one of Bellaspon's active substances) is reduced by phenylbutazone, antacids, cholestyramine and drugs that alkalinize urine.
With the simultaneous use of antirheumatic drugs, salicylates, cortisone-like substances, the risk of damage to the gastric mucosa increases.
In the case of the combined use of propranolol, there is a narrowing of the lumen of the arteries.
