Cream for external use 1% Travogen
Cream for external use 1% Travogen

Travogen is a fungistatic preparation of local antibacterial and antifungal action for external use; affects dermatophytes (Microsporum, Trichophyton, Epidermophyton), mold, yeast and yeast-like fungi, as well as Corynebacterium minutissimum (the causative agent of erythrasma) and some gram-positive bacteria (streptococci, staphylococci).

Release form and composition

The drug is produced in the form of a cream for external use 1%: white or white with a yellowish tinge, opaque homogeneous creamy mass (20 or 50 g in aluminum tubes, in a cardboard box 1 tube).

100 g of Travogen cream contains:

  • active substance: isoconazole nitrate - 1 g;
  • auxiliary components: sorbitan stearate, polysorbate 60, cetyl stearyl alcohol (cetyl / stearyl alcohol - 60/40%), white petrolatum, liquid paraffin, purified water.

Indications for use

Travogen is recommended for the treatment of the following fungal skin lesions (including reinfected ones):

  • mycoses of smooth skin, including those localized in the skin folds and on the external genitals;
  • mycoses of the feet;
  • candidomycosis;
  • trichophytosis, microsporia, rubrophytosis;
  • epidermophytosis;
  • pityriasis (multicolored) versicolor;
  • erythrasma.

Contraindications

Use of Travogen is contraindicated in case of identified individual hypersensitivity to isoconazole and auxiliary components of the drug.

Do not use the drug during the neonatal period (up to 1 month).

During pregnancy, the use of a cream is possible when the therapeutic effect for the mother outweighs the potential risk to the developing fetus.

There is no data on the penetration of isoconazole into breast milk, therefore, the cream should not be applied to the mammary glands before feeding. If it is necessary to use Travogen for a long time, it is recommended to resolve the issue of stopping or interrupting breastfeeding.

Method of administration and dosage

The cream is applied externally to the affected skin with a thin layer and rubbed lightly.

Recommended dosage: for children from 1 month old and for adult patients, the drug is applied once a day.

Duration of treatment: average - 14-21 days, in case of localization of mycoses in the folds - up to 28 days. Extension of the course is possible after consulting a doctor.

In order to prevent relapse, local therapy with isoconazole must be continued for 14 days after the disappearance of clinical manifestations.

The use of Travogen for the treatment of children aged 1 month to 2 years is permissible only under the supervision of a specialist.

Side effects

Travogen is generally well tolerated even when applied to sensitive skin.

In rare cases, dermatological reactions appear in the form of skin irritation with a burning and itching sensation or erythema; in extremely rare cases, skin hypersensitivity reactions are possible.

Overdose cases have not been reported to date. Due to the low toxicity of isoconazole, with a single use of high doses or inadvertent intake of the cream inside, the likelihood of acute intoxication is practically absent.

special instructions

Travogen cream is intended exclusively for external use.

It is necessary to inform the doctor about any adverse reactions to the use of the drug, and if signs of sensitization to isoconazole or irritation appear, treatment should be discontinued.

It is recommended to avoid getting the cream in the eyes, and in case of accidental contact, rinse thoroughly with warm water.

In the absence of the effect of therapy, the patient should seek the advice of a doctor.
