Tenoten is a drug that has anxiolytic (anti-anxiety) and sedative effect, which improves the tolerance of psycho-emotional stress. It has antidepressant, stress-protective, neuroprotective, antihypoxic, antiamnestic, antiasthenic and nootropic effects.
Release form and composition
Dosage form - lozenges:
- Tenoten: flat-cylindrical, white or almost white, with a line and a chamfer, on the side with a line there is the inscription MATERIA MEDICA, on the other side - the inscription TENOTEN (20 pcs. In blisters, 1 or 2 packs in a cardboard box);
- Children's tenoten: flat-cylindrical, white or almost white, with a line and a chamfer, on the side with a line there is the inscription MATERIA MEDICA, on the other side - the inscription TENOTEN KID (20 pcs. In blisters, in a cardboard box 1, 2 or 5 packs).
Active ingredient: affinity purified antibodies to brain-specific protein S-100, in 1 tablet - 3 mg *.
* Applied to lactose as a water-alcohol mixture:
- Tenoten tablets - with a content of not more than 10 -15 ng / g of the active form of the active substance;
- tablets Tenoten for children - with a content of not more than 10 -16 ng / g of the active form of the active substance.
Auxiliary components: microcrystalline cellulose, lactose monohydrate (lactose), magnesium stearate.
Indications for use
Tenoten
- psychosomatic diseases;
- neurotic and neurosis-like states;
- stress disorders with anxiety, irritability, nervous tension and autonomic reactions;
- moderately pronounced organic lesions of the central nervous system (including discirculatory and traumatic origin), accompanied by autonomic disorders, irritability, instability of the emotional background, memory loss.
Tenoten for children
- attention deficit hyperactivity disorder;
- neurotic and neurosis-like disorders, accompanied by vegetative disorders, anxiety, irritability, increased excitability, impaired behavior and attention.
Contraindications
- congenital galactosemia, glucose or galactose malabsorption syndrome, congenital lactase deficiency;
- hypersensitivity to drug components.
Application in pediatrics: Tenoten is not prescribed to patients under the age of 18 years, Tenoten for children - up to 3 years.
The safety of using the drug during pregnancy and lactation has not been studied; in these cases, it is necessary to assess the balance of benefits and risks.
Method of administration and dosage
The drug should be taken orally between meals, holding in the mouth until completely dissolved.
Adults are prescribed Tenoten 1-2 tablets 2 times a day, in some cases the frequency of administration is increased up to 4 times a day.
Children are prescribed Tenoten for children: with neurotic and neurosis-like disorders - 1 tablet 1-3 times a day, with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder - 2 tablets 2 times a day.
Treatment lasts 1 to 3 months. If necessary, the duration of therapy is increased to 6 months, or a second course is carried out after 1–2 months.
If the child cannot swallow the tablets whole, they can be dissolved in a small amount of boiled water at room temperature.
Side effects
In the recommended therapeutic doses, Tenoten does not cause side effects.
In case of hypersensitivity to the drug, allergic reactions are possible.

Tenoten does not cause unwanted muscle relaxant and hypnogenic effects.
The drug has activating properties, so it is recommended to take an evening reception no later than 2 hours before bedtime.
If 3-4 weeks after starting treatment, there is no persistent improvement in the condition, you should consult a doctor.
Drug interactions
No clinically significant interaction of Tenoten with other drugs has been identified.
