Tadenan is a herbal medicine used for benign prostatic hyperplasia.

Release form and composition

Tadenan is available in the form of oval-shaped soft gelatin capsules consisting of two longitudinal halves of an opaque white / light green color; capsules are of size # 4; content - oily brown liquid (10 pcs. in blisters made of polyvinyl chloride and aluminum foil, in a cardboard box 1, 2 or 3 blisters; 30 pcs. in blisters made of polyvinyl chloride and aluminum foil, in a cardboard box 1 or 2 blisters).

Composition for 1 capsule:

  • active substance: thick extract of African plum bark (Pygeum africanum Hook) - 50 mg;
  • auxiliary component: peanut oil - 150 mg;
  • capsule shell: titanium dioxide, gelatin, glycerol, sodium chlorophyllin copper.

Indications for use

Tadenan is used for disorders of the urinary system with adenoma (benign hyperplasia) of the prostate.

Contraindications

Tadenan is contraindicated for use in case of hypersensitivity to its main or auxiliary components, as well as soybeans and other plants from the same family as the African plum.

The drug should not be administered to children and adolescents under 18 years of age.

Method of administration and dosage

The capsules are intended for oral administration. Adult patients are prescribed 50 mg (1 capsule) of Tadenan twice a day (morning and evening). It is advisable to take the drug before meals.

The duration of treatment is on average 6 weeks, but it is possible to increase the course to 8 weeks. A repeated course of therapy is prescribed as needed.

Side effects

During treatment with Tadenan, the most common side effects from the digestive system (nausea, diarrhea, or constipation).

During the post-marketing study period, cases of urticaria and generalized allergic reactions were reported.

People who are allergic to peanut butter have an increased risk of allergic reactions, including severe anaphylactic reactions, when using Tadenan.
