Pharmacological properties

Pharmacodynamics

Ketoconazole is a synthetic derivative of imidazole dioxolane. Has an antifungal effect against dermatophytes and yeast-like fungi (Epidermophyton sp., Trichophyton sp., Micosporum sp., Candida sp., Malassezia furfur).

Also exhibits antifungal activity against Pityrosporum orbiculare and Pityrosporum ovale, which cause excessive flaking of the skin.

Dandruff in the form of a shampoo helps to quickly reduce the flaking and itching of the scalp, which in most cases is associated with seborrheic dermatitis and dandruff.

Pharmacokinetics

When applied topically, the absorption of the active substance through the skin is negligible. It is assumed that even with prolonged therapy, the drug does not have a systemic effect.

Indications for use

  • ointment: mycoses caused by fungi sensitive to Perhotal - epidermophytosis of the hands and feet, epidermophytosis groin, pityriasis versicolor, skin candidiasis, seborrheic dermatitis caused by Pityrosporum ovale (local therapy);
  • shampoo: lesions of the scalp, which are associated with the yeast-like microorganisms Malassezia furfur (Pityrosporum ovale) - seborrheic dermatitis of the scalp, pityriasis versicolor and various types of dandruff (therapy and prevention).

  • individual intolerance to any component of the drug.
